Pavilions Swords is committed to being accessible to everyone. In 2025, we became the first retail destination in Ireland to receive Autism Friendly Accreditation from AsIAm, Ireland's autism charity. Here's what we have in place.
Every Tuesday, 9:30am – 10:30am
During Sensory Hour we reduce noise levels and lower lighting throughout the centre where possible. Not all stores can adjust lighting; check the individual store page if needed. There are no in-centre announcements during this time, and additional staff are on hand if you need anything. Assistance dogs are always welcome.
A Sensory Map is available to highlight areas of high sensory input throughout the centre, helpful for planning a quieter route in advance.
Sensory bags are also available from the Customer Information Desk on the Upper Mall.
A dedicated Sensory Room is also available throughout all centre opening hours, not just during Sensory Hour. To use it, collect an application form at the Customer Information Desk on the Upper Mall, or download it in advance from the sensory-friendly shopping page.
If you'd like support during your visit, you can show this message to a member of staff:
"I am Autistic and I need assistance. I may be experiencing sensory overload or feeling overwhelmed. Please be patient and understanding in assisting me with the help that I need."
You can also ask any member of staff for help with directions, finding a quieter space, leaving the centre, or reuniting with a carer or companion.
Free manual wheelchairs and electronic Mart Carts are available to borrow from the security office on the Lower Mall, seven days a week. No booking is required.
Dunnes Stores also offer GoTo trolleys for children with special needs. Ask a member of staff in store.
There are five public lifts throughout the centre and car parks, providing step-free access between the Upper Mall, Lower Mall, and all car park levels.
Accessible toilet facilities are available on both levels of the centre.
Twenty-nine designated disabled parking spaces are available:
See the parking page for full car park details.
Assistance dogs are always welcome throughout Pavilions Swords.
Baby changing, buggy-friendly restrooms, and the family room on the Lower Mall are detailed on the family-friendly page. The family room includes a microwave, sink, accessible sink, bottle warming facilities, and private feeding areas with comfortable seating.
If you have any access requirements or questions about visiting Pavilions Swords, the Customer Information Desk on the Upper Mall is the best place to start. Wheelchair and Mart Cart loans and Sensory Room access can be arranged at the Desk and do not need to be booked in advance.
